Grr.

Is anyone else getting bounced off the forum?

I login, then read, then try to to reply to a topic and find that "only registered members can reply", because I'm no longer logged in. Total time elapsed, maybe 60 seconds or so.

Haven't altered my net configuration at all, so very confused.

Could it be that Dementia has a built-in bullshit filter? :D

Yes on occasion.

Did you perhaps update your browser? Maybe it's set to auto-update...

Yeah, I've noticed this.

It's not our built-in bullshit detector :D

As far as I can determine, the server isn't handling sessions properly so it's dropping people every now and then. I'll log a support call with the hosts now and see if we can't get it sorted out.

Problem is - it's not easily reproducible so it may take some time to diagnose, kill and test.

Until then, thanks for your patience :D

Just a quick thing on this, as I noticed Diva mentioned it again just now in her I are "home" in die WesKaap thread.

As part of the YouTube can't play videos thing, I changed my interwebs settings slightly on my PC at work, as per http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?p=1791015. But haven't got round to it at home because I spend my time at home being vomited on and sleeping wherever possible.

Anyway, I digress. Often.

The moral of the story is that I don't get bounced off Dementia at work anymore, but I do at home. In addition, I can also use BB forums, comment on MT blogs and view YouTube vids at work with no problem now. So if you're being bounced off Dementia, then try changing your settings as per the Mybroadband post. It might just help.

Interesting thanks 6k :)

I'm going to sticky this so people can see the possible solution. I still blame the hosts anyway ;)

Having looked at the solution, it tells me Telkom may have fucked something up with their godawful transparent caching system. Fun fun.

For those looking for the simple solution:

Change your proxy settings to dsl-cache.saix.net ;)

You do this in internet settings (control panel) for Internet Explorer and in Tools -> Options in Firefox. I dunno about all those other fake browsers.

This should completely eliminate the problem.

Port number should be filled in as: 8080. You can also select 'Use proxy for all protocols'.

You could suggest this to the IT department for DNS on Proxy depending on domain config.
