I've noticed that when one replies to one's own post, the server considers this additional post as an edit, and then it really stuffs things up.

e.g. I post a reply, then immediately add a reply to my post, then the server adds the new post as an edit of the previous one.

SOmething needs attention.

It's an intentional feature actually - the intention is to eliminate double posting or a single person posting 15 posts in a row.

If you post again with in a certain limit it joins the posts

I've reset it now to 5 minutes and removed

the separator.

I like the post-combining thing.

The separator thing was actually kinda nice in my opinion. Gave an indication of time delay between posts. Sometimes posts make more sense when there's a noted delay...

Well, tell you what - since it's very easy to configure... I'll enable the separator for most forums but not ones where pictures may be posted often? Say the NSFW section?

You can't make it optional? Say when you double post have the forum put up a message asking if you (a) wish to combine the posts, and then (;) if you want the separator (b would depend on your answer to a)

But what would that mean for people on their phones-like me?

The options are essentially:

Time limit
Separator
On/Off for forums

OR

Display error message on double post. I haven't tested the error message but I can turn it on and see if it's hideously irritating.

btw, even after 24h, the server still decided that a reply was an edit of an immediate prior post.
